The Government’s Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS)

The Government’s Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) is now live, this entitles self-employed workers to claim 80% of their average monthly profits covering a three month period. Profits are based on prior years Self Assessment Tax Returns and the total payment will be capped at £7,500 or £2,500 a month.

The Government has stated that you must make the claim yourself and your accountant/agent is unable to apply on your behalf. However, to assist we have included the link to the claim below along with details of the information you will need to have to hand.

What You’ll Need:

  • Self-Assessment Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR);
  • National Insurance number;
  • Government Gateway user ID and password; and
  • UK bank details.

Once your claim has been accepted by HMRC, you should receive payment within 6 working days.
